Sensex gains for 4th day, Rupee rises against dollar
Both indices were off to weak starts when trading began.
Meanwhile, the rupee rose 4 paise to close at 88.66 against the dollar.
However, strength of the American currency and rising crude oil prices prevented sharper gains in the local unit, forex traders said.
Brent crude was trading 1.6% higher at $64 per barrel in futures trade.
