US insurer The Standard expands India footprint with new capability center
The group is a mid-market US benefits and retirement specialist, sharpened by acquisitions like Allstate’s employer voluntary benefits business in March this year and AI-led claims investments.
The new Indian entity begins with 175 employees who move from Allstate India after the acquisition of Allstate’s employer voluntary benefits business on Apr 1, 2025.
The company plans to expand hiring and has shared updates on its site.Sengupta brings around 30 years of experience across BFSI and IT, including leadership roles at Novartis India GCC, 3i Infotech, ITC Infotech, IGATE, Mphasis, Accenture, Wipro and Royal Bank of Canada. Greg Chandler, executive vice president of information technology, said, “I’m excited to welcome Mohua to The Standard to lead our operations in India,” adding that her skills align with the firm’s culture and will support its plans to scale its US operations.Sengupta said, the new center will tap India’s specialised talent to deliver efficient solutions and support sustainable growth.
She will oversee operations across the two sites, handle financial, compliance and regulatory matters, and manage all employees.
