Cooler summer helps WBSEDCL save over Rs 600 crores
According to an official, the discom saved Rs 150 crore-200 crore in power buys, having bought 500-700MW on average every day this summer.“For the past three years, the average load in summer hovered between 9,000 MW and 10,500 MW in WBSEDCL area.
This year it came down to 8,000-8,500 MW, which brought much-needed relief for WBSEDCL,” an official said.Last fiscal, the discom had spent Rs 30,677.8 crore on power buy and transmission, making up 80% of its total expenses.
