Housing trends: All-India house price index up 3.6% in Q1, Nagpur and Chennai lead quarterly gains
On a sequential quarter-on-quarter basis, the HPI was up 2 per cent in Q1:2025-26.
Cities including Nagpur, Chandigarh, Chennai and Kochi recorded the highest gains during the quarter.The central bank released the HPI with a new base year of 2022-23, replacing the earlier 2010-11 series.
“Eight new cities, viz., Hyderabad, Thiruvananthapuram, Pune, Ghaziabad, Thane, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Chandigarh and Nagpur, have been added to the existing 10 cities in the new series,” the RBI said.
The other cities are Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Kanpur, and Kochi.
