Infosys hands out Sept quarter bonus: Employees to get 75% average bonus; check details
The Bengaluru based company, which is also India’s second-largest in the IT sector, has granted an average bonus of 75% of the eligible or target amount for the period.
Employees told ET that the figure is slightly lower than what was distributed in the previous quarter. According to staff at job level 4, the company has awarded 83% to those rated ‘outstanding’, 78.5% to those marked ‘commendable’, and 75% to employees who ‘met expectations’.
People familiar with the bonus cycle said payouts declined with each lower job level, although the overall average for all eligible categories still fell within 70.5% to 83%. Some employees said their bonus this quarter is 5–7% lower than what they received for the April–June period.
In that cycle, Infosys’ average payout stood at 80%, and individual disbursals were between 75% and 89%. The company has extended payouts to employees at job levels 4, 5 and 6, which include software engineers, team leaders and senior managers.
These groups, together forming the majority of the firm’s 323,000 employees, were assessed under ‘outstanding’, ‘commendable’, ‘met expectations’, and a non-applicable category, all of which qualified for bonuses. The internal communication noted that payouts differ according to each employee’s performance and contribution for the quarter.
Delivery managers have been given the bonus allocations to distribute within their respective units based on individual assessments.In its email to staff, the company wrote: “Thank you for being an integral part of the Infosys journey.” The firm has not responded to ET’s request for comment.Infosys has said the bonus amounts will be added to the November salary.
