RIL shuts off Russian oil at export-only refinery unit
From Dec, all refined products exported from the unit in the Jamnagar SEZ (Special Economic Zone) will be derived from non-Russian oil, the operator of the world’s largest refining complex in a single location said, indicating its compliance with the latest round of curbs on Russian oil or products made from those barrels.“This transition has been completed ahead of schedule to ensure full compliance with product-import restrictions coming into force on Jan 21, 2026.
The crude oil import in SEZ is a fully segregated facility catering to the production line in SEZ,” RIL said.The company will will accept Russian oil shipments contracted as of Oct 22 at its unit in domestic tariff area, “considering all transport arrangements were in place.” The final such cargo was loaded on Nov 12 and “cargoes arriving on or after Nov 21 will be received and processed at our refinery in the DTA,” RIL said.
